BAYNE
PREMIUM LIFT SYSTEMS MARKS 40 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE
Chicago,
WasteExpo Booth #1869 (May 6, 2008) — Like WasteExpo, Bayne Premium
Lift Systems is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2008. Bayne is the
leading manufacturer of cart lifters for commercial, industrial and
refuse/recycling applications. |
Bayne is
commemorating the occasion with a new slogan: 40 Years of Excellence.
This tag line is incorporated into the company’s WasteExpo booth
signage and promotional items.
“Over the last 40 years, Bayne has been committed to excellence in
everything we do, from manufacturing top-quality products to offering
our customers the best possible service and support,” explains Doug

Bayne
Machine Works, Inc. was established in Greenville, S.C., by Jimmy Bayne
in 1968. For the first 18 years, the company was a machine shop
fabricating parts for various industries throughout the southeastern
United States. In the early 1980s, as Jimmy Bayne was contemplating
taking the company in a new direction, he was approached by a refuse
cart manufacturer looking for cart lifters that were thinner and more
reliable than those available from other sources.
After extensive
research and development by the Bayne engineering team, the company
introduced its Thinline® Premium Lift System featuring a patented rack
and pinion rotary actuator in 1986. This cart lifter design was
developed specifically for waste handling applications and has gone on
to become the most requested in the industry. Its thin profile works in
conjunction with most commercial container lift bars, so it can be used
without interference on rear loaders that collect commercial containers.
The rack and pinion actuator provides smooth operation with minimal
maintenance.
In 2001, Heil Environmental purchased Bayne Machine Works. Since Bayne
was now a full-time manufacturing company, not a machine shop, its DBA
name was changed to Bayne Premium Lift Systems to reflect its most
popular product.
In 2004, Bayne built upon its employees’ experience and expertise with
refuse cart tippers to create a new line of lifters. The Bayne
Engineered Solutions Team™ (BEST) series of commercial and industrial
lifters are designed for use in factories, hospitals, shopping centers,
food processing plants, post offices, universities and other material
handling applications.
In December 2006, Bayne relocated its headquarters and manufacturing
operations to a more efficient facility in Greenville, S.C. The new,
42,000-square-foot facility was custom-designed to streamline material
flow and improve operations. Unlike some companies that outsource
manufacturing, and simply assemble their final products, Bayne
manufactures all of its cart lifter parts in-house for complete quality
control.
